Giveaways are both fun and rewarding when you participate and win. And the fact that the Cryptocurrency ecoshpere is full of legitimate giveaways makes cryptocurrency investments both rewarding and exciting.
But truth be told, not all giveaways out there are legit giveaways for you to participate in. In this article I will explain to you why should not participate in any giveaway that is organized by Coinbase.
What Is Coinbase.
Coinbase is among the world most trusted trading platform for cryptocurrencies. That is, with coinbase, you can buy and sell cryptocurrencies without the treat of being scammed.
This however, cannot be said about giveaways that is organized by coinbase. Why not you may wonder.
Coinbase Does Not Organize Giveaways.
Any giveaways that you come across that seems to be organized by coinbase is a scam, because coinbase has expressly made it clear that they do not organize giveaways.
How I Came to Know About This.
I recently learnt about this fact when I read a post on the official blog of Coinbase which was posted on the 7th of March 2020. The post is titled: Crypto giveaways scams and how to spot them.
In the post, after explaining a popular form of giveaway scam, Coinbase said and I quote:
Now that you understand the gist of what giveaway scams are all about, we’d like to make it extremely clear that Coinbase does not engage in cryptocurrency giveaways of any kind.Coinbase Blog
What This Means.
It means that when you see a giveaway that says that it’s organizer is Coinbase, then that you should know that the giveaway is a SCAM and that it is not legit.
What You Can Do.
In order to protect its users and the broader cryptocurrency community, you are encourage to please report to Coinbase immediately when you come across such giveaways (that is, giveaways that seems to be organized by Coinbase).

To report giveaway scam that is impersonating Coinbase as its organizer, you are to make your report via an email which should be sent to email@example.com
